Raul Josiah is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) and a Certified Addiction Counselor II (CAC II). Raul graduated from Howard University with a Bachelors in Sociology and Minor in Psychology and Bowie State University with a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology. Raul has also extensive education, training, and experience in the field of substance abuse, addictions and motivational interviewing. He has worked in the mental health field for fifteen years with both youth & adults in both Washington, DC and Maryland. Raul was specially recognized for a Psychoeducational Workshop on Dynamics and Theory of Group Psychotherapy in August 2015.
Raul enjoys working within a variety of settings such as inpatient psychiatric, outpatient, community-based, the juvenile and adult justice systems, drug courts, the state health and human services system, and local school systems.
Raul is known for his positive temperament with aspirational and effective communication. Raul is an Integrative Psychotherapist that utilizes a variety of therapies, techniques and interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Person-Centered, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Family and Play.. Raul works with a wide range of issues, including ADHD, Depression, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Anxiety, PTSD, Personality Disorders, Self-Esteem/Self-Empowerment, Grief and Loss and Relationship/Family concerns, to name a few.
In his spare time, Raul enjoys reading, sports/weight lifting, traveling, and spending time with his family. He hopes one day to win America’s Top Chef!
