Todd Christiansen, M.D.

Medical Director/President

Welcome to Families First Counseling and Psychiatry. As the medical director of FFCP I provide direct psychiatric assessment and treatment services along with providing clinical and program oversight. I am originally from Wisconsin where I completed medical school. My post-graduate training includes child, adolescent, adult, and forensic psychiatry and I am board certified in child, adolescent, and general psychiatry. My experience includes providing school mental health services in Baltimore, Maryland; working as a consultant to the D.C. Superior Court for children under juvenile justice jurisdiction and child and family services agency jurisdiction; hospitalist at an inpatient program, running the child and adolescent program; and most recently as a member of the Greater Washington Psychiatry and Counseling team working with clients in age ranging from 4 to 96. Please contact us and schedule an appointment for an assessment if you are in need of psychiatric assessment or treatment services. I provide this service for individuals who already have a therapist, someone looking for a second opinion, and as a service for clients already enrolled in our practice for therapy services.
